On January 9, 2022 Floyd H. Robinson, Jr (Buddy) died peacefully after a long struggle with multiple illnesses including cancer. He was born in Seaford, Delaware and lived most of his life in Providence, Rhode Island. He held several jobs over the years such as The Robinson Gas Station and Garage as a mechanic and various jewelry and manufacturing positions, he also worked at a few food and meat packing companies. He coached several team in the Providence Basketball League and volunteered for many community events involving sports and was always giving advice to young people and nudging them in the right direction. He had a love for music especially Gospel Music, he played the guitar and sang in a vocal style similar to James Cleveland. He was the son of the late Floyd H. Robinson, Sr and the late Matilda L. Robinson of Seaford, Delaware. He leaves to mourn 8 Children: Marcus Brown, Markia Brown, Elgin Robinson, Lois Thompson, Sherita Burrell, Jermaine Robinson, Joy Robinson, Floyd Robinson III, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren Brothers: Jeffery Robinson, Anthony (Mark) Robinson, Samuel Robinson, Sisters: Mary Lou Bynum, Sarah Ann Smith, Dianelle Ferrara, Tracy Robinson, Donna Diallo, Terry Walker, Joy Lynne Pompey and his Godson Dario Grosso Sr. And a host of relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding him in death was three brothers: Cleveland Ray Robinson, Terry J Robinson, and Donald L Robinson and one sister: Dominga Pompey.
Relatives and Friends are Invited to attend Calling hours on Tuesday, January 18th from 9am-11am with a service at a 11am. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence.
